European Autocross coming to Hungary, Round 3 in Nyirad!
4 June 2025, Ronalds
Nyirád, Hungary – As the FIA European Autocross Championship makes its engine-roaring return to Hungary, all eyes turn to the legendary Nyirád Racing Center—affectionately known as the “Red Cauldron.” From June 7 to 8, 2025, this iconic venue will host the continent’s elite drivers across five adrenaline-charged categories: SuperBuggy, Buggy1600, JuniorBuggy, Cross Car, and Junior Cross Car.
Since its inception in 1988, Nyirád Racing Center has been a cornerstone of European motorsport. Its moniker, the “Red Cauldron,” stems from the vibrant red hue of its bauxite-infused gravel, a testament to its rich history and enduring allure. Over the years, it has hosted numerous prestigious events, cementing its status as a must-visit destination for motorsport enthusiasts.

Class by Class: What to Expect on Nyirád’s Red-Hot Gravel
CrossCar Junior: Can Belgium Break Spain’s Stronghold?
After a dominant performance in Germany – where Spanish drivers swept the podium (Rodríguez, Fuertes, González) – all eyes will be on whether they can repeat their success on Hungarian soil. However, Belgium’s Jordan Genten, one of the pre-season favorites, showed solid form in Seelow with a strong fourth-place finish. The Nyirád round may finally ignite a fierce four-way battle between Spain’s rising stars and Genten's calculated aggression. Expect fireworks as these young guns go wheel-to-wheel on Hungary’s red clay.
CrossCar: The Rivalry Rekindled – Meat vs. Pina Round 3
The gripping duel between David Meat and Iván Piña Chinchilla is shaping into one of the season's headline rivalries. With one win apiece – Piña victorious in Seelow, Meat answering back in Bauska – the score is tied heading into Nyirád. Last season, Piña took the win in Hungary, narrowly edging out Meat in a tense final. But there is home hero Tomi Barati, who finished fourth here last year, now drives the ultra-competitive LifeLive TN11. Could Barati spoil the party and climb onto the podium in front of a roaring home crowd?
Junior Buggy: Momentum with Feuillade, Pressure from Behind
French phenom Malone Feuillade dominated the Nyirád final in 2024 and has already proven unstoppable in Bauska this year. As he eyes back-to-back wins in Hungary, the pressure is on the fast and fearless Czech drivers to push back and break Feuillade’s winning streak. With momentum on his side, Feuillade looks poised to extend his lead – unless the Czech contingent can pull off a surprise.
Buggy 1600: Wide Open Battle on Hungarian Clay
Predicting a winner in the 2025 Buggy 1600 season is like throwing darts in the dark. Two rounds, two different winners – Danny Van Den Berg triumphed in Seelow, while Remo Kobras shone in Bauska. Looking ahead to Nyirád, last year’s Hungarian round was conquered by the lightning-fast Czech driver Jakub Novotný. Can he repeat that performance, or will a new name rise to the top in one of the championship’s most unpredictable categories?
Super Buggy: Stubbe’s Redemption or Nikodem’s Revenge?
The elite Super Buggy class has reached new heights in 2025, thanks to the much-anticipated return of 10-time European Champion Bernd Stubbe. Despite mixed results in the opening rounds, Stubbe remains the man to watch in Nyirád. Last year’s race saw Michael Kuches snatch victory after chaos unfolded in Turn 1 – but it was Petr Nikodem who had been the fastest man on track until he was eliminated in an early crash. With Nikodem hungry for redemption and Stubbe looking to reassert dominance, the Hungarian round promises to be a showdown of champions.
