Viktor Vranckx returns to the highly competitive RallyX Championship with a Peugeot 208 Supercar!
5 May 2025, Ronalds & Stefano
We have had the honor of following Viktor since his start in Autocross and Rallycross, we have seen him win the RX2e Champion title in 2022 and the RallyX SuperCar AM title in 2023.
After two seasons in America for NitroCross Viktor returns to Europe in RallyX!
Could you share the story of how the opportunity arose for you to compete in RallyX with the incredibly fast Peugeot 208 Supercar?
"We wanted to compete in Europe again, especially at some of my favourite tracks. We came across the Hedströms Motorsport Peugeot, started negotiations, and quickly reached an agreement. I have not regretted it for a second, it is a great team with real passion for rallycross, and it has been amazing to work with them!"
Are you planning to compete in the European or World Rallycross Championship this year? If yeah, could you tell us more about your goals for the season?
"At the moment, no—we are not planning anything. We need to see how the FIA handles things first. They need to prove they know what they are doing, and then we will see. Maybe in the future, but for now, no."
From your experience, what are the key driving differences between electric rallycross cars and internal combustion engines How do these differences affect your driving style?
"It depends on which electric car you are talking about. With the RX2e, it is very important to maintain speed through the corners. In contrast, with the FC1 or a Supercar, you can slow the car down, rotate it, and accelerate again. With a combustion engine, it is crucial to know at what RPM the power kicks in and to shift correctly. If you make a mistake, it is harder to recover. But with electric, it is easier to make up for errors thanks to the instant torque!"
AX MAGAZINE ITALIA thanks Viktor for his response and wishes him to always stand on the top step of the podium!
