During the evening of the FIA ​​Off-Road awards we interviewed Wlodek Szaniawski (FIA Chairperson), in which he roughly explains the differences between the two Autocross & Rallycross disciplines and above all the success that the CrossCar category is having.

Difference between Autocross and Rallycross

"The simple differences between the two disciplines i.e. Autocross and RallyCross are: first of all the type of track surface, for autocross you have completely dirt and for RallyCross you have half asphalt and half dirt and the second difference is the type of car, for RallyCross you can use touring cars the cars that drive on the road and for autocross you generally use buggies, like those that drive on the beach."

About 2024 Season

"As for 2024, what can I say, it was a great success of the new junior CrossCar category first and foremost. 
We expected this success but it went much better than our expectations, so it is a very clear sign that this category especially CrossCar is the best category for the base of this sport, for every level of competition and especially for all ages, this thing is very interesting since they can race from little ones to "pensioners", you can have a lot of fun driving in this category"

Differenza tra RallyCross e Autocross

"Le semplici differenze tra le due discipline ovvero Autocross e RallyCross sono: prima di tutto il tipo di superficie della pista, per l'autocross hai completamente terra e per il RallyCross hai metà asfalto e meta terra e la seconda differenza è il tipo di auto, per il RallyCross puoi usare le touring car le macchine che guidi in strada e per l'autocross si usano in generale Buggy, come quelli che vanno in spiaggia."

2024

"Per quanto riguarda il 2024, cosa posso dire, è stato un grande successo della nuova categoria junior CrossCar prima di tutto. 
Ci aspettavamo questo successo ma è andata molto meglio delle nostre aspettative , quindi è un segno molto chiaro che questa categoria specialmente CrossCar è la migliore categoria per la base di questo sport, per ogni livello di competizione e soprattutto per tutte l'età, questa cosa è molto interessante dato che possono correre dai piccoli ai "pensionati", puoi divertirti molto guidando in questa categoria."
