FIA European Autocross and Cross Car Championship: Extreme heat marks the fourth round at Matschenberg

The fourth round of the FIA ​​European Autocross and Cross Car Championship, held at the Matschenberg circuit in Germany, was marked by extreme weather conditions. The soaring temperatures made the weekend particularly challenging not only for the drivers, but also for mechanics, marshals, and spectators.

Despite the difficulties, the track provided plenty of entertainment and thrilling duels in all categories.

Junior Cross Car

The Cross Car final provided thrills until the final corner. The victory went to Spaniard Hugo Fuertes with his LifeLive, who delivered a flawless performance.
Close behind was Liam Kruger, who gave the F&S chassis its first podium in the Cross Car category with an excellent second place.
Completing the podium was Germany's Rapace Munch, a star performer in front of his home crowd.

Cross Car

Ivan Piña Chinchilla returns to the top step of the podium, regaining victory after a difficult start to the season.
Second place went to Vincent Mercier, who earned his fourth podium in as many races this season. This important result allows him to gain valuable championship points over teammate David Méat.
Third place went to Juanjo Moll Hernández, who had an excellent weekend. After finishing top of the overall standings after three qualifying heats, the Spaniard confirmed his competitiveness by securing another podium.

Junior Buggy

Hanak Junior dominated once again, having had a perfect weekend. The category leader won everything there was to win.
Joep Cuenen finished second with his Alfa Racing, while Martin Kolomy finally returned to the podium after a long layoff due to an arm injury. This important result revitalizes his championship ambitions.

Buggy 1600

In front of his home crowd, René Mandel took a stunning victory thanks to a flawless performance.
Second place went to Filip Durt, who also took the F&S chassis to the podium in the Buggy 1600, achieving his first podium in the category.
Third place went to the reigning 2025 champion, Jakub Novotný, who earned important championship points.

SuperBuggy

Petr Nikodem took his second consecutive victory after his success in Vilkyčiai, confirming himself as one of the men to beat this season. In a race made extremely tough by high temperatures, the Czech driver managed the situation perfectly, winning with a top-level performance.
Second place went to Mike Bartelen, who finally returned to the podium after several unfortunate episodes.
Completing the podium was Teun van Asten, who is increasingly seen as Nikodem's main rival in the fight for the European title.

The European Championship restarts in Germany with increasingly close standings and a clear message: despite the extreme heat, the spectacle of European autocross continues to provide thrilling races and drivers ready to battle for the title until the final round.
