The fast Dutch Super Buggy driver Rene van der Coelen (dutch) is not only fast but also remarkably consistent. During the 2024 season, Rene reached the finals in all three rounds he competed in and was ready to battle for a podium finish in each one. Read more below!
"In 2024, we achieved outstanding performances. At the Dutch/National level, we secured the Superbuggy title for the fourth time. On the European stage, we participated in several races, consistently reaching the finals. Our best result came at Saint Georges, where we finished in 3rd place. I believe we have a highly competitive car at the moment, but there’s still plenty of room for growth, particularly in gaining experience on European tracks.
I’ve noticed that the more I race on these tracks, the faster I become. This means that as a driver, I can extract even more performance. Racing at the European level is different from competing nationally, but I see this as an exciting challenge that motivates me to improve further.
The highlight of the season was undoubtedly at Saint Georges, where the entire weekend went smoothly, and we delivered strong performances in every series. The toughest moment, however, came in Seelow. We struggled with pace throughout the weekend and couldn’t immediately find the right setup. Nevertheless, through teamwork and persistence, we identified a good configuration just before the semi-final. This allowed us to finish in 4th place in the final. It was a reminder of how effective collaboration and good communication within the team can elevate our performance and create a positive atmosphere.
In 2025, I won’t be competing in a full championship. Instead, I’ll focus on select national events while planning to participate in five European competitions: Seelow, Nova Paka, Nyirád, Saint Igny, and Maggiora."
AX MAGAZINE ITALIA hopes to see Rene on the track more often and achieving top results.
