FIA EUROPEAN AUTOCROSS & CROSSCAR CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 - FOZ COA
High Drama and Triumph in Foz Côa – FIA European Autocross Championship Season Finale
21 October 2025, Ronalds
The 2025 FIA European Autocross Championship reached its breathtaking conclusion in Foz Côa, Portugal.
The grand finale delivered all the elements that define this spectacular sport, speed, intensity, drama, and emotions, as champions were crowned and fates were decided under the Portuguese sun.
Super Buggy: Heartbreak for Nikodem, Glory for Antony
The Super Buggy final delivered the kind of drama only motorsport can create. Czech driver Petr Nikodem took an early lead, seemingly on his way to securing a historic third European title. But fate had other plans. With 2 corners to go, Nikodem's Buggy suffers mechanical damage and crashes into the wall and losing his chance for victory.
Close behind, fellow Czech Zdeněk Antony seized the opportunity, taking the lead and never looking back. With that decisive win, Antony not only claimed victory in Foz Côa but also secured his second European Championship title, cementing his status among the Super Buggy elite.
Buggy 1600: Novotný’s Comeback of the Season
After a shaky start to the season, Jakub Novotný found his rhythm when it mattered most. Early dominance by René Mandel had placed Novotný under pressure, but the Czech driver launched a stunning comeback in the second half of the championship.
By the time the series reached Foz Côa, Novotný was already leading the standings. All he needed was a solid finish — and he delivered perfectly, taking the win while Mandel suffered heartbreak with a retirement in the final.
Novotný thus claimed his second European title, with Danny Van den Berg and Nathan Ottink completing the podium.
Junior Buggy: Feuillade’s First Title After Hanák’s Misfortune
The Junior Buggy final mirrored the Super Buggy category in drama and emotion. French driver Malone Feuillade took the early lead, followed closely by Ladislav Hanák, who only needed a strong finish to secure his maiden title.
But disaster struck on the opening lap — Hanák’s front-left wheel broke, forcing him to retire and ending his championship dreams. Feuillade’s steady drive to second place in the final was enough to crown him European Champion for the first time.
Victory in Foz Côa went to Joep Cuenen, followed by Feuillade and Eliška Plná in third.
CrossCar: Chinchilla Claims the Crown
In contrast to the other classes, the CrossCar final was a relatively calm affair. Although David Meat took the race win, it was Spain’s Iván Piña Chinchilla who did exactly what he needed — finishing second to secure the 2025 European CrossCar Championship.
A special mention goes to Adar Melamed of Israel, who impressed with his first-ever European podium finish, taking a well-deserved third place.
Thank you, Foz Côa!
What a spectacular way to close the 2025 season! From breathtaking duels to thunderous applause, Foz Côa delivered a finale bursting with energy, passion, and pure racing intensity. Every corner, every lap, every cheer from the crowd captured the beating heart of European autocross.
