"Bringing the Speedcar Spirit to the Czech Republic"

07 March 2026, Stefano

The Speedcar brand has been expanding worldwide for several years, including America and Europe.

Several retailers have opened in recent years (Speedcar Estonia, Speedcar Italia, Speedcar Francia, and many others).

Now it's the Czech Republic's turn, thanks to Michael Blazek and Tomas Vlcek.

We interviewed them to see how their trip to Catalonia went, and especially their first test with the Speedcar Wonder!

by Michael Blažek and Tomáš Vlček:

“We travelled to Mollerussa to collect the very first Speedcar that will compete in the Czech Republic. With nearly 2,000 kilometres separating us from Spain, it was a long and demanding trip, but one we were fully determined to make.

We arrived late on Wednesday night, and on Thursday the handover of the car finally took place.

Ares Lahoz welcomed us into the Speedcar workshop and guided us through the entire facility, explaining in detail the components, engineering and technology behind the Speedcar Wonder R.

We also received valuable technical guidance from both Ares and her father, Delfín Lahoz, who helped us better understand the car and highlighted the points that will be important as we begin working with it.

At the same time, we discussed several parts and setup details that will play a role in adapting and developing the car for Czech tracks.

On Friday morning, we moved on to Bassella for our first test.

The venue is an impressive testing complex, well suited to rally and off-road development, and it provided the ideal environment for our first proper kilometres with the car.

Sharing the day with us was the Speedcar factory team, led by David Méat, who were also working on new ideas and developments for the 2026 season.

From our perspective, the test was a very important and successful first step. More than chasing outright performance, it was about carrying out an effective shakedown, understanding how to work with the car, how to take proper care of it, and above all how to drive it in the right way.

What stood out to us most throughout the entire visit was the spirit of the Speedcar team.

Despite the professionalism and technical level involved, the atmosphere was warm, open and welcoming — very much like one big family.

We would especially like to thank Ares Lahoz and Delfín Lahoz for the way they looked after us during our stay, and David Méat for sharing useful driving advice during the test itself.

For us, this trip was not just about collecting a new race car. It was the beginning of a new project, a new challenge, and an exciting step towards bringing the Speedcar Wonder R onto Czech tracks for the first time.”
