REPORT SEELOW FIA EUROPEAN AUTOCROSS & CROSSCAR 2026
A great start to the FIA European Autocross & Crosscar Championship in Seelow, Germany.
For many years now, the European Championship has started on the beautiful German track, but above all, the weekend begins with a beautiful parade in the town center with live music, rock, beer, and many fans.
More than 130 drivers will start this weekend in four categories: Crosscar, Juniorbuggy, Buggy 1600 and Superbuggy.
In the Crosscar category, as always, the level of competition has been high, especially in terms of facilities, engineering, setup, and drivers.
Many changes for this season; David Meat made his debut with the Speedcar Wonder team, and he did his best.
From qualifying, he found a completely superior pace to everyone, even Ivan Pina Chinchilla, who was unable to find the feeling with his Lifelive during the weekend.
The new official driver of the Rapace Factory Team, Bob Schanen, finished second; a great start for him.
Third place for Vincent Mercier (Speedcar Wonder), who had to settle for the lowest step of the podium, even though he had the pace to take home the win; he will certainly try in Bauska.
ITALIAN DRIVERS:
Gabriele Zoppetti
Juniorbuggy: Ladislav Hanak Jr. (Alfa Racing) won the race in Germany for the second time in a row, after a strong performance all weekend.
Second place for Dutchman Franssen (JVDC), confirming his remarkable growth after extensive testing and, above all, impressive results in the 2025 season finale.
Young Bahlsen (Alfa Racing) secured his first podium in this category, under his German fans, a great satisfaction for the young German driver.
Buggy 1600: The highest-level class, where you can't get a single line wrong, lots of names, lots of teams, a very high level all weekend.
Van den Berg confirmed his form, but unfortunately, in the final, he missed out on the podium due to some contact.
The PK Chalets team put in a great performance all weekend, but after a penalty given to Klaassen for overtaking under the yellow flag, and Ottink, who was the victim of multiple contacts in the final, they missed out on the podium.
Arnost Florian also put in a great performance with his new F&S until the semifinal, but then, due to an accident on the first corner, he was unable to make it to the final.
Third place went to a great Timo Pahler (Peters), who with such consistency earned a great third place.
Malone Feuillade (Fast & Speed), his first race in this category, pole position on Saturday and a great second place in the final, will be interesting to see in the next races.
Rene Mandel confirms that he is the number one rival to beat, with upgrades to his f&s frame this winter he signs a great victory on his home turf.
ITALIAN DRIVER:
Alessio Gallotta:
SuperBuggy: Let's start with the winner, Teun van Asten, and our sincerest congratulations to a driver who has never stopped pushing over the years to achieve this result.
With his Volvo-powered Alfa Racing from the Maashorst Team, he enchanted everyone with a fantastic final.
Second place went to Markus Wibbeler after some fantastic heats, in which his buggy (Alfa, formerly Theuil) seemed perfect in every way, never a problem.
Completing the podium was Petr Nikodem, after an excellent weekend. Unfortunately, at the first corner of the final, due to too many contacts with other drivers, he found himself at the back of the pack. He then made some fantastic overtaking moves and still finished on the podium.
